Just a quick public service announcement. I’ll be off to Bristol tomorrow to go to ‘What’s the blogging story?’, a panel debate about blogging and the media (I’m not on the panel).
Who can you trust when the new media meets the old? An evening of debate with mainstream journalists and bloggers. What’s the relationship between traditional and new media – the tired and the wired as some call them? Is blogging journalism? And who can you believe in this age of blogs, tweets and pay walls?
Join Roy Greenslade, Donnacha DeLong (NUJ Vice President), Sunny Hundal, Brooke Maganti (Belle du Jour) and a panel of popular bloggers to determine who will dominate the future of news.
The bloggers will include Anton from Enemies of Reason and Sarah Ditum. It should be a really interesting debate, and it will be streamed live from www.ejc.net. I’m also going to be covering the debate for EJC, so if you miss it my report will be up on Monday.
I *might* even be livetweeting it, but that depends on whether my phone battery holds out…

I’m annoyed that I can’t attend but I’ll be tuning into the live stream instead. Hope you have a good time.
That’s a shame – would’ve been good to meet you.
It sounds really interesting and I hope it opens many more people’s eyes to the viability of blogging as a credible media, versus a somewhat stale and de-facto pre-internet model of tabloid journalism which is obviously fighting to retain sales. Thanks to Anton and all who are getting involved.
